A No-Show Event
Dear Friend,
We are “Clearing the Dance Floor for Literacy” this year with our special “no-show” event to ensure the safety of every supporter during these unprecedented times. With its impact on businesses and families, we’re suspending our dance for 2021, making all donations for this year’s fundraising campaign 100% tax deductible.
The annual Literacy Ball is the primary fundraiser for Barrow County’s Adult Literacy Program. Your tax-deductible sponsorships and contributions will support Barrow County’s adult learners, programs and activities throughout the year, including GED test scholarships, transportation and daycare, beginning new classes, hiring staff and purchasing equipment. ALB also provides free high school equivalency classes, English as Second Language classes, and Citizenship classes across Barrow County, including the Barrow County Detention Center. Adult Literacy Barrow has supported over 14,000 students since 1993.
You may choose to support the work of Adult Literacy Barrow through sponsorship of the Literacy Ball or a donation as a Friend of Literacy.

In lieu of our usual raffle this year, we’re pleased to offer an exclusive vacation package to one lucky winner! Included is a 7-night stay at OceanJoyed, a newly renovated and decorated 5 bedroom, 4 bath home centrally located on beautiful Fripp Island, a small, gated slice of paradise in the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Guests will enjoy expansive beaches, golfing, dining, quaint shops, etc., in a protected natural habitat.
Golf cart rentals, excursion tickets and guest passes for amenities are available for purchase. Package dates are Feb.-Apr. & Oct.-Dec., 2021, subject to availability at the time of booking.

Raffle tickets are $100 each and are not part of sponsorships or other donations. Only 100 tickets will be sold to improve your chances of winning. There is no per person limit on ticket purchases.
The raffle drawing will be held on the afternoon of February 1, 2021 and can be viewed via Livestream on the Adult Literacy Barrow Facebook page.
Payment must be received by January 31, 2021 to be entered in the raffle and to be acknowledged publicly.
Adult Literacy Barrow will file IRS Form W-2G to report the value of the winnings.
